The Samsung Galaxy S6: what are we missing?

We asked Ines van Gennip, Marketing Director, IT & Mobile Division, Samsung UK & Ireland for her thoughts.

What do you think is the coolest underused feature on one of your handsets?
One great feature that I think people really benefit from, but hopefully rarely have to use is Ultra Power Saving mode. When users have just 10% of battery left, they can activate this feature to give them another 24 hours usage. This is great for situations when you’re just not able to charge your phone, for example a lot of our consumers activate this mode during festival season, when access to power is limited.

What’s the most surprising thing a Samsung handset can do?
Our new handsets, the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge are the world’s first smartphones with embedded wireless charging technology. With brands such as Starbucks and McDonalds rolling out charging pads in their facilities, running out of battery while out and about will soon be a thing of the past. As consumers start to see more opportunities for wireless charging, they will come to expect it and it will soon become the norm.

Is there anything very simple that users sometimes miss?
One great thing that sometimes gets overlooked is that with the WatchON app users can control the TV with their smartphone. Great for those times you’ve lost the remote down the side of the sofa.

Which feature is your personal favourite?
I would have to say the “Quick Launch” function on the new Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge, which means you can launch the camera in 0.7seconds to never miss a photo opportunity again. We’ve all known the frustration of missing the perfect shot by a moment the “Quick Launch” app ensures this doesn’t happen.
